Kia Dealership
Krahn Group was hired to provide design and engineering services for this new Kia Dealership located in the Abbotsford Automall.
1,200 sq.ft. of 2nd floor area
This project involved the construction of four-storey tilt-up concrete multi-tenant office building with high quality interior finishes. The building utilized two of the heaviest panels ever lifted in western Canada at 196,000 lbs each, an exceptional feat given the close proximity to neighboring buildings. The tight floor plan combined with cast-in-place stair shafts and shear walls required thoughƞul layout of panels and stackers.
Imported Italian plaster finishes were used for all interior common area walls, ceilings, and lobby areas. The project also used structural curtain wall framing and reflective glazing systems extensively. Following LEED specifications, recycled materials were used and an on-site recycling program was in place.
This building won the Tilt-Up Achievement Award in 2014.
The Grandview Business Centre is a four-storey, multi-tenant commercial office building that is a landmark within its newly developed neighborhood. Tilt-up concrete construction is the preferred construction method for this highly residential area because of its tendency to be a quieter form of construction. The four-day tilt-up construction process went smoothly, even though this project included one of the heaviest panels to be lifted in western Canada at the time it was built.
This building won the Tilt-Up Achievement Award in 2013.
The Water’s Edge Condos is a 64 unit, five-storey wood frame apartment building on one level of concrete underground parking with 106 stalls. The concrete suspended slab includes a raised outdoor terrace with a pool and hot tub.
Located in the Campbell Heights Business Park, the Loblaw Warehouse is a 410,000 sq.ft. perishable distribution centre.
Designed to meet LEED Silver standards and local design guidelines, this cross dock distribution centre is a feature in its neighborhood. Krahn Group provided consulting services to ensure this project was cost effective, on budget and on time.
The Krahn Group provided building design and structural engineering services, in addition to construction administration, for converting an existing 155 ft. high concrete grain feed mill structure that was built in 1966 to office/commercial use. The 155 ft. five-storey tower is of cast-in-place concrete construction with perimeter concrete frames and interior concrete walls.
